I am Sopika Uthayakumar. I have taught Tamil since 2012 and worked as a Tamil–French translator and interpreter since 2015. I offer private lessons for adults and children, adapted to their starting point and goals.
Education and experience
- Level 12, Tamil Education Development Council – PTEC, Paris 11.
- Higher Certificate (Level 3) in Tamil literature, Tamil Virtual Academy / Thanjavur University, India.
- Teaching Tamil since 2012; more than 50 students supported.
What we work on together
We focus on situations you want to handle: talking with your family, travelling, understanding Tamil, or reading and writing. Transcriptions are starting guides; listening and feedback during lessons remain essential for pronunciation. Vocabulary and regional forms are adapted to the people you speak with.
Lessons and resources
Lessons mainly take place by video call. In-person lessons in the Paris region are available on request, subject to confirmation of the location, availability and price. The platform’s first lessons are free; resources in preparation are clearly labelled.
